The Mongolian Parliament finally approved Order No. 85 of 2025 on some measures to implement the “Alt-Z” campaign on July 9, 2025. However, the President of Mongolia, U.Khurelsukh, vetoed it on two grounds: 1) Mongolia should increase the number of specially protected areas and pursue a policy of protecting its environment; and 2) the Order should be brought into line with the principles of the Mongolian Constitution.
