To foster a favorable environment for citizens and businesses, lawmakers submitted the "Bill of Amendments to the General Law on Social Insurance" to the Speaker of Parliament. The bill aims to reduce burdens, increase profits, competitiveness, and jobs, expand free market relations, and enhance tax and social insurance fund revenues.
The draft law:
- Legal entities and individuals of Mongolian ownership will be exempt from compulsory social insurance coverage for civil law work contracts, paid work contracts, and similar agreements. Services provided by these individuals will not be included in social insurance coverage, and their contract income will be excluded from the income subject to social insurance contributions.
- Cash benefits provided by employers to employees for food, transportation, housing, and firewood and coal will be excluded from the salary, equivalent income, and income subject to social insurance contributions.
- The maximum amount of the employer's monthly salary and equivalent income for social insurance contributions will be set at 10 times the current minimum monthly wage for employees, according to the Parliament’s Press Department.
